Soft Modular Robot

Project Members: Stephane Constantin, James Guzek, Conrad Petersen

Modular robots are robots whose physical structure can be user configured in any desired way. This modular robot is unique in the sense that the primary building block is a "soft" cube that can be dynamically changed from soft/compliant to being solid/self-sustained. This type of building block offers many advantages in a modular robot, including the ability to parallelize limbs making them stronger. The cube is an interesting design involving twist actuating cables to provide linear motion.
